Privacy policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ARTÉ Professional LLC (“ARTÉ,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit or make a purchase from our website, or otherwise interact with us. By using our site, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

When you place an order, create an account, subscribe to marketing, or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number, and the contents of your order. We do not collect or store your full payment card number. Payments are processed securely by Shopify and its payment processors; your card details are handled by them, not stored on our systems.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our site, we automatically collect certain information about your device and browsing, including your IP address, device and browser type, referring pages, and the pages and products you view. We collect this through Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, which count visits and measure page speed without cookies, and through Shopify analytics, which uses cookies that follow the choice you make in our cookie banner (see Section 4). Our website at arteprofessional.com does not run advertising pixels. Our Shopify checkout at shop.arteprofessional.com uses the Meta Pixel and Meta’s Conversions API, which share checkout and order activity (such as the products you buy, the order value, and contact details in hashed, unreadable form so Meta can match them) with Meta Platforms to measure and improve our ads on Facebook and Instagram. This happens unless you decline marketing cookies; where the law requires your consent first, only after you agree (see Section 4). We do not use Google or TikTok advertising pixels.

Information from third parties

We receive information from service providers who help us operate, including our e-commerce platform (Shopify), our website host (Vercel), our email marketing provider (Klaviyo), payment processors, and shipping carriers.

2. How we use your information

• To process, fulfill, and deliver your orders, and to send order confirmations and shipping updates;
• To provide customer support and respond to your requests;
• To send marketing emails where you have consented, and to let you manage those preferences;
• To measure and improve our site and products, including through analytics;
• To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues; and
• To comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms.

3. How we share your information

We share personal information with:

• Service providers who perform functions on our behalf — including Shopify (store, checkout & store analytics), Vercel (website hosting & cookieless site analytics), payment processors, shipping carriers, and Klaviyo (email);
• Meta Platforms (Facebook & Instagram), which receives checkout and order activity from our Shopify checkout to measure and improve our ads, unless you decline marketing cookies;
• Legal and safety recipients when required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights, customers, or the public; and
• A successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We do not sell your personal information for money. The checkout and order activity we share with Meta for advertising may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under some U.S. state privacy laws. You can opt out at any time by declining marketing cookies with Your privacy choices, or by contacting us as described in Section 6.

4. Cookies & tracking technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used. Our cookie banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies:

• Essential. Storage in your browser keeps your cart, remembers your cookie choice, and remembers whether you’ve seen our email signup popup. It is always on, because the site needs it to work.
• Analytics. Shopify analytics reports visits and product views to our Shopify store using two first-party cookies: _arte_y (kept for 1 year) and _arte_s (kept for 30 minutes). They are set only when analytics is allowed: where the law requires your consent first, only after you agree; if you decline analytics, they are removed and no Shopify analytics events are sent. Shopify’s customer privacy tool stores your choice in a cookie so our Shopify checkout respects it too.
• Marketing. This website does not set marketing or advertising cookies itself. Your marketing choice is passed to Shopify, and our Shopify checkout runs the Meta Pixel and Meta’s Conversions API unless you decline marketing (where the law requires consent first, only after you agree). If you decline, no advertising data is shared with Meta.
• Cookieless measurement. Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights count page visits and measure page speed without setting cookies or tracking you across other sites.

Our checkout is provided by Shopify at shop.arteprofessional.com and uses Shopify’s own cookies to run the cart and checkout securely. You can review or change your cookie choice at any time with Your privacy choices at the bottom of every page. You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.

5. Email marketing

If you opt in, we send marketing emails about products, offers, and news. When you sign up through a form on our site, your email address goes to Klaviyo, our email marketing provider, which stores it and sends our emails for us. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. Opting out of marketing does not stop transactional messages such as order and shipping confirmations. We don’t send marketing text messages; if we offer them in the future, we’ll ask for your separate consent first.

6. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information; to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your information for targeted advertising; and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA) and other U.S. states with privacy laws have these rights. To change your cookie choices, use Your privacy choices at the bottom of any page. To make any other request, contact us at support@arteprofessional.com and we will respond as required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

If you are located outside the United States, please note our site is operated in the U.S. and your information will be processed there.

7. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide our services, fulfill the purposes described in this policy, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

8. Security

We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, and rely on Shopify’s secure, PCI-compliant checkout for payments. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children’s privacy

Our site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Third-party links

Our site may link to third-party sites and services we do not control. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for them.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and material changes will be posted on this page.
